Walkthrough
On-site walk & written scope
We walk every elevation with you, flag rot and spalling, and put the system spec and scope in writing.
Protect
Mobilize & mask
Drop cloths, plant protection, and full masking of windows, hardware, and lanai surfaces. We stage from the smallest truck that fits.
Prepare
Wash & mechanical prep
Low-pressure detergent wash with mildewcide. Scrape, sand, and de-gloss all failing surfaces. Rinse and let dry to spec.
Repair
Rot, stucco, and caulk
Wood rot cut-outs, trim rebuild, stucco crack routing and patching, caulking of every seam and penetration. Nothing gets painted until repairs cure.
Prime
Substrate-matched primers
Stain-blocking, bonding, or masonry primer, chosen by substrate. End grain, bare wood, and repairs get primed twice.
Coat
Two finish coats
Cut in and roll (or spray + back-brush) two full coats to manufacturer wet/dry-mil spec. We use tinted primer under dark colors to prevent bleed-through.
Final walk
Owner walk & touch-ups
You walk the job with the crew lead. Anything you flag gets addressed before we call it done.

Questions before we start
How long does exterior paint last in Hawaii?+
It depends heavily on exposure. Beachfront elevations in Kailua, Portlock, or the North Shore wear on the ocean-facing walls much faster than an inland Manoa or Mililani home. We'll review the current condition and discuss maintenance expectations during the walkthrough.
Do you fix wood rot before you paint?+
Yes. We include rot cut-outs and rebuild in the scope. Painting over rotted trim is the fastest way to a callback.
Can you handle HOA color approvals in Kapolei or Mililani?+
Yes. We submit color chips, sample walls if required, and keep the approval paperwork on file.
What if it rains during my job?+
We track the forecast daily and don't top-coat before rain. Our schedule builds in trade-wind windows, especially for windward jobs.
